interesting apparatus like the Büchner funnel on the left and the hotplate on the right.

da capo was coming, last concert w mr tan.
therefore, full section photo w mr tan.

og jacket was ready later in the week.
cx and me had to literally lug the two heavy bags of jacket back to nus.

the tuesday before the concert, during sectionals.
the 2nd half ppl finally met simin and we all talked properly for the first time.

DA CAPO '08.

section photo is damn nice.

thanks to everyone who came to support.
its my first concert with so many frens coming =)

special credit to zhicheng who made such an intricate concert prez for everyone.
benson and me agreed tht zhicheng's gf will be damn lucky =)

the concert was... supremely fun and good.
musically wise, i wouldnt say we did an excellent job..
just that, as much as possible, avoid those major mistakes like intonation probs and everything.
but of cz, we werent THAT zai, esp only practicing tgt for abt 10 weeks.
i screwed up big time on stage too.
hmm.. it was an emotional concert.
cz it was mr tan's last concert w nusws.
he was the conductor that really manage to convince the whole band to have fun on stage and not to be too hard on ourselves if we dont sound as good.
and indeed, it WAS fun.
i suppose he had the faith in all of us to try and make ourselves sound the best we could.
so in any case, i can tell that majority of us enjoyed our time on stage.
every note, every chord, every rhythm, every set of running notes, and every minute of music making w mr tan.
and the last chord we held in "its a small world" was just so full of emotions, passion, nostalgia and reminiscence, mostly overflowing from our snrs next to us.
decorated with tears of sadness from many of our snrs.
i read khai yuen's blog that other day.
he had this tribute entry to mr tan.
it was so emotional tht even those who dont feel anything would feel something by the end of that long entry.
its a pity that i could not be under mr tan anymore.
thot that he would be someone that i can learn alot from.
and despite the fact that ive only been under him for less than 10 weeks, i'll seriously miss the way he teaches and educates all of us abt the dead music score in front of our faces.
he brought the music alive.
i know tht we wont be able to feel as much as the snrs do.. but a fraction of those intense emotions did rub off on the year ones too.
the time on stage performing with him reminds me of nodame cantabile actually.
how chiaki inspired his musicians on stage, as well as touching the hearts of the audience in his last concert with A-oke in japan before he left for europe for further studies.
i can almost see mr tan's shadow in chiaki.
hahaha.
and we feel as much as the A-oke ppl. =)
wel, hope that mr tan can really come back and join us at nus cz theres just so much to learn from him.
we've got all our best wishes sent along with him to USA when he leaves next year.
i hope he'd really do well.
cz nusws will be hoping, and waiting for his return.
the email he sent was, saddening, yet inspiring and motivational.
you wont believe how touching it was.
ohwels.. i guess ppl come and go in our lives.
some make great impacts in a short time, while some others dont, even after interacting with them for quite some time.
DA CAPO '08 was great and memorable.
and i am glad that i was a part of it =)
alriteys, on to the next thing.
since everything has ended, tuition, cca and everything..
time to catch up w sch work.
i will try my best.
no matter whether im cut out for uni or not.
im gna give it my best shot and leave the rest to God.
theres nothing much i can do also.
hmm but if i do go to you and start complaining abt sch, do pardon me =X
i just need to let off some steam, but deep inside, i know i need to push on.
so if i start complaining to you, give me your trust, and il strive on to do my best for God, for myself, and for the ppl around me. =)
sigh, suddenly so motivated.
hope it stays that way.
but still, i would need help and guidance w work.
where do i get the help i need? :/
and...
its been freaking confusing.
i really... :/!!!!!
RAWR.
somehow i feel like shrinking back and hide myself from the world again.
ah.. its been 2 hours of blogging.
i better go get the slp i really need.
and i need to change blogskin.
mata ne..
