hmm..
im cleaning up at a very slow rate.
cz theres just too much to clear.
i cant believe how much junk i had accumulated over the years.
anyone wants to see my sec 4 prelim papers? =X
hahahaha.
hmm..
i was thinking of a few words, and i was trying to pinpoint the exact line that separates these two words to make them two different words altogether.
for example,
happy and
joy,
sad and
sorrow,
like and
love,
wish and
hope,
believe and
trust,
calm and
peace.
if you were to check the thesaurus, they'll probably have each other in the list of synonyms given anyway.
but i think,
they are actually miles apart in terms of their definitions.
to me, at least.
words like
happy, sad, like, wish, believe, calm, are words that describe transcient feelings.
feelings that you suddenly experience due to a matter or person; feelings tht might just disappear the very next moment when sth else happens.
words that
cant withstand the test of time.
just like how we cant be happy forever, like the way we are not sad forever.
just like how you dont understand how you used to have a crush on a particular person.
just like how you choose not to believe in someone cz he/she has disappointed you.
just like how you lose your cool quickly when someone has stepped on your ego.
but when i look at words like
joy, sorrow, love, hope, trust, peace, i suddenly get the feeling that these emotions come from deep in our hearts.
and they will always remain in your heart till the end of times.
like the death of a loved one does not just bring sadness, it brings sorrow.
and it dampens you so much more than just the plain sadness that you get when you accidentally drop your favourite ice cream on the floor.
and till decades later, when you think about it, the sorrow still remains, altho you may not easily feel extremely sad about it anymore.
the peace you have in your heart will keep you calm despite the fact tht the fiercest tempest and the raging storms are screaming right into your face.
and if you love someone, this love will never change, no matter how many good/bad things had happened.
these things are hard to get, and it takes lots of time to develop.
but when you finally obtain it, its hard to lose.
you can be happy, but you dont feel joy in your heart.
but despite feeling sad, if you have the joy in your heart, its not difficult to remain optimistic and to quickly get over that sadness.
after all these analysing, (which i think probably no one has the patience to read through the many words anyway)
my point is, i realised that
there ARE things that cannot be eroded by time.
things that are found deep in your heart.
things that cant be lost unless you decide to give it up one day.
sigh..
why are human minds and emotions so complicated anyways.
ah, i shld get back to packing.
thinking makes my brain crack.
worry makes my heart sad.
mata ne..
